Hawaiki and Krissi’s Sleep Journey

Meet Hawaiki, who was 6 months old when he embarked on his sleep journey. He’s baby number four in his family, who live a busy life with Kōhanga, kids’ sports, work commitments, and parents’ gym schedules.

He had already learned the skills of independently settling to sleep, as his mum had previously worked with ‘Here For You’ with her third pēpi. This meant Hawaiki’s sleep challenges were a little different to the majority of clients.

Their goals focused on supporting him to resettle during the night, as he was waking up to 4 times and feeding back to sleep. His day sleep, although easily achieved and reasonably consistent, was off balance due to him often sleeping in the car on the way to sibling drop-offs or sneaking in a morning nap before mum’s gym class.

With a personalised sleep plan and consultation call, we were able to get Hawaiki’s routine on track, working around the family’s busy lifestyle and before we knew it, he was down to just two wakes a night, with having a plan when it came to reducing his night feeds.

“Where would we be without Hannah?! We are so grateful for her guidance for a second time, and I’m especially thankful we’re all finally getting some restorative sleep after 6 months! With only 18 months between our toddler and pēpi, as well as two teenagers, we needed a sleep plan for baby that had routine but with flexibility. Hannah gave us options that worked for our busy lives, and the most helpful troubleshooting tips when things don’t go to plan. We honestly could not recommend Hannah enough for any parent or caregiver whether it’s your first baby or 4th baby like us! Ngā mihi Hannah 🤎”
